  • This is a first-time visit so this is a first time review. It cost's £3.50 per adult or £10.00 for a family. This place does lack its amount of things you can see and there is no shop to eat or drink ...  more »
  • Lovely selection of birds and other mammals to look at. Great interesting flying display with lots of different birds. Very enjoyable and reasonably inexpensive too.  more »
  • I was brought here by my wife today against my better judgement. I hate to see animals and birds caged up. I would rather watch TV programmes about them in their natural habitat. The only pleasing thi...  more »

  • Brought the family for a day out and loved it. Nice to see so many different birds and animals up close. The staff were really friendly and available to answer question. There is also a large play ground for the kids to run around and play.
  • While the owl centre is pretty small there are plenty of different species of owl and other birds to see as well as meerkats. With afternoon shows and talks, the main museum exhibits, exhibition hall, cafe and large play area for the kids you could easily spend the whole day here. Parking is free as is the museum itself but the owl and exhibition hall charge a small fee. The cafe serves hot food and snacks but does not take cards so bring cash.
  • Although the owls and other birds were lovely, I was disappointed to see that rabbits, guinea pigs and chickens were all living together in one large, dirty enclosure, which is quite wrong. They all carry different bacteria which can cause all sorts of respiratory and other health problems for each other, for a start, and they all have different nutritional requirements from each other, which is the main point. The one shared water bowl was disgustingly filthy although I was assured it was changed regularly, and there was barely any hay (which was also dirty) which rabbits need an awful lot of (their body size per day, in fact). Rabbits and guinea pigs need toys for stimulation and there wasn't one toy in the enclosure and the rabbits were simply lying down, bored. Keeping these animals together like this would suggest to members of the public that it would be alright for them to do so back home - it is so not. I would suggest therefore that the Owl Centre separates these 3 categories of animals into their own pens as swiftly as possible. The other cages were a bit small too for some of the larger birds and the place as a whole was a bit smelly which indicates it wasn't kept very clean. Not sure what they spend the entrance fee on but they need to use it to spruce it up a bit. I will not visit again.
  • Nice place to visit in conjunction with Kirkleatham museum. Free parking and just £3.50 adult admission. They have a wide range of birds not just Owls. They weren't flying on the day of my visit. However they showed off some young birds and let you stroke them!
  • Although this is quite a small place, and initially does not seem very impressive, the flying display, animal handling session and very friendly and interesting staff made this a great experience. Considering the very low admission price, this was a brilliant way to spend a couple of hours.
