  • We arrived at Basildon Park in our motorhome and were greeted warmly by the carpark attendant and guided into a suitable space. The staff on reception made a fuss of our Collie and my husband enjoyed ...  more »

  • A well kept, well loved house and gardens. The rooms are beautiful and all interesting, all the volunteers in the room are knowledgeable. Does require a walk up a hill from the car park to the house but a buggy service is provided if necessary. The cafe in the bottom of the house is a perfect way to finish the day. Can easily spend the whole day exploring the house and gardens here.
  • We tried one of the walks today rather than the house and it was beautiful.....especially after a very tasty Chicken and Mustard stew with crusty bread! ( well recommended!)
  • If you enjoy history, architecture, art and gardens then Basildon Park is well worth a visit. The volunteers in each room were very helpful and I especially appreciated how welcoming they were to children and families.
  • Large house and grounds, entrance is interesting as you approach via the woodland path. Nice gardens house still laid out as a family home. House has an interesting history and a lot of work has been done on the property, unfortunately we visited on a day when there was a shortage of volunteers which would have improved the overall experience.
  • Lovely house with plenty to see and a long relaxing walk in the grounds after. Tea rooms outside
