  • A lovely place to visit. The whole of the reserve is evolved from a disused chalk pit just outside the village of Monkton, and is laid out in such a way that allows you to see all the flora and fauna ...  more »
  • I took my 4 year old Grandson today , and to any parents/grandparents who do not wish to see the young 'uns stuck in front of a TV screen I cannot recommend it too highly. The entrance fees are indeed very modest and the exhibits plentiful and fascinating , plus a massive selection of books and some very cheap toys with a nature theme.......not at all heavy on the wallet ! We spent a lovely couple of hours doing the nature trails and spotting the insect life..............and he thought the "Bat Cave" was great. We even "scrumped" a few blackberries on our way round. The young volunteers were friendly and very helpful , and I have no doubt that we will be back. We particularly want to get to the observatory. Well done to everybody concerned , and I have to say that all the other parents and kids who were there seemed to feel the same.
  • Kids into science so loved the museum. The birds of prey were also great. Just wished we had remembered to bring lunch as there were lots of lunch benches so we could have stayed longer.
  • Lovely exhibits, a great relaxing walk around and very well priced. Helpful and friendly employees.
  • After having driven past on countless occasions we decided to have a look and were surprised at how big the place is! It would be easy to spend the day here if you brought lunch and are happy with natural surroundings. Nice place to bring the kids too to give them a break from electronic entertainment!
  • Fantastic place extremely cheap my son thoroughly enjoyed hunting dinosaurs
