  • I firstly cannot believe it is free entry, the place is huge, and there is so much to see, I took my toddler so didn't get to read much or study too much into the history, but will be going back to do...  more »
  • Was quite unprepared for the wealth of information that the fort offered. If you are good on your feet there are splendid views and overviews of the fort interior. The exhibits were well arranged and ...  more »
  • A great couple of hours entertainment (well it was for me). Amongst the cannon exhibits are some amazingly ornate ones, some of which are just stunning. Highlight was the underground tunnels, you'd ne...  more »

  • Great place to explore. There's not enough to make a whole day of it unless you're really into guns and cannons, but the kids enjoyed the tunnels and museum pieces for a couple of hours. Considering this is all for free, I thought this was excellent.
  • Fascinating historic place to visit. Free entry but worth donating to. Great for the kids and adults with canons, guns, armoured vehicles, tunnels to explore etc. Lovely grassy embankments to picnic or buy food in the cafe. Be sure to watch the canon firing demonstration at 1pm. Parking free but limited. There is another park opposite.
  • Amazing quality for free! It accurately details loads of guns from the 1400s to the 1990s, and things from the gift shop are very good at a reasonable price!
  • What a fabulous place. Guns galore. Every artillery piece imaginable. Terrific displays. Great for families. Free to go in and free to park. Nice cafe with outside seating.
  • The young lady on the reception desk told me there was no charge to visit the fort but i made a donation anyway. The donations pay for upkeep, toilet rolls, light bulbs and new exhibits. The fort is government funded but don't pay for everything.I would have given the people who work here 6 stars if i could. The displays were excellent and everything was laid out well and explained. The fort is big,as are some of the guns.I recommend a visit here even if you aren't into things that go bang and just seeking an interesting day out somewhere new.I was in the middle east during Gulf War One and had heard of the Iraqi super gun but never seen it.It turns out it might, had it been completed, been pointed in my direction.I had been in Israel at the commencent of hostilities.I had planned to stay anyway but when the air raids started things got serious.I stayed put.At the fort and looking at the gun barrels i dwelt on yet another lucky escape and thanked my guardian angel.Thank you for your time and please visit the fort if you can.
