  • Fort Nelson is a historical monument you have to have on your visiting list when in Portsmouth. It's a couple of hours of fascinating journey back in time of (relatively) modern artillery and military history. Many interactive displays , a lot of audio visual enhancements to make your visit a meaningful educational journey.(mind you: no cell phone reception or wifi inside)
  • Well worth a visit, so much to see and do, you could easily spend a whole day there. It is also free entry.
  • Well worth an day trip, it is free to get in to the armory (with a suggested donation) its great learning about the history of the fort. See if you can time if for when they fire the gun.
