Porthcurno, Porthcurno

(4.9/5 based on 320+ reviews on the web)
Feel instantly transported from rainy England to a tropical paradise with a visit to Porthcurno. The beachfront village's deep turquoise-green lagoon exudes an exotic atmosphere. Wild pink and green flowers grow on the rolling hillside leading up to the cliffs, and soft sand covers the beach. The beach serves as a popular swimming hole at low tide, but when the tide's in the waves come crashing against the rocky shore. Nearby, you'll find a classic pub, museum, and well-known theatre. • Beautiful walks around the coastline with fantastic views. Coastal walks are amazing but a bit challenging in the rain
  • We have visited this place last summer and we were very impressed and loved it a lot! We will definitely go there this coming summer as this place is heaven on earth! Lots of things to see and explore...  more »
  • Wonderful (and popular) beaches. This is my favorite part of the coastal path. Don't forget to stop at the Minack theatre and telegraph museum.

  • A beautiful Cornish beach with the outstanding Minach Theatre next door. Stunning clear water and amazing views. If you're holidaying in the area don't miss!
  • Fantastic day out at one of the best beaches in the UK. There is a pub located on the road just before the car park. If you're a National Trust member you will still have to pay for parking as the car park is council run, not too costly though. There are toilets in the car park and also a Kelly's Cornish ice cream stand....yum. Arrive early to avoid the mayhem that can occur down there, or alternatively enjoy a nice peaceful evening down there as I've done, either way you won't be disappointed. The walk along the path to the beach is only about 5/10 mins and there is a cut through to the cafe for drinks and snacks aswell. But the view when you get there is the reward, enjoy.
  • One amazing place on Earth! I love it. Crystal clear sea, clean beach, beautiful cliffs. WOW! Must see this place, I would love to visit this place again and spend more time in here. Once you finish with relaxing on the beach, just go and visit Minack theater which is on the top of the cliff, beautiful view, cheap tickets.. worth it.
  • One of the finest beaches in the UK. Lovely clean sands and crashing blue water surrounded by stunning cliffs and hidden gems. The waves here can be stronger than they appear, so keep a close eye on children in the water.
  • Clean, fresh and probably the best beach I've ever visited across 3 continents! Love the blue waters
