Sandbanks Beach, Poole

Categories: Beaches, Nature & Parks, Outdoor Activities
Inspirock Rating:
4.5/5 based on 1,000+ reviews on the web
Sandbanks Beach, noted for its shallow, clear waters and outrageously expensive real estate, is Britain’s premier beach. The soft, white sand is great for kids, but the low waves make surfing impossible. Amenities include restrooms, showers, and, during the busy summer months, first aid and lifeguards. The beach can be very crowded in the summer. An alternative to swimming is enjoying a walk along the shore to Boscombe Pier. • I'm in love with Sandbanks! Clean, sandy and very well maintained! Good restaurants! Lots of activities for everyone! Love it! Will definitely come back!
  • Beautiful weather, not so busy as schools have gone back, and a fantastic beach - makes you wonder why you go abroad! If the weather could be guaranteed we'd come again and again. Clear water too. Onl...  read more »
  • We were staying in the area on a very hot day !! The beach is really nice and they actually rake the sand !! The sea gentle slopes in and there is a very visible life guard presence.
  • In my opinion, one of the most beautiful beaches in the UK. Lovely white sand and a large enough stretch that even on busy days, there is still plenty of space. Water is fairly clean for keen swimmers and small waves mane out perfectly safe for children. Plenty of shops and cafes if you need something but be aware they are expensive. Be sure to take some time to appreciate some of the stunning beachfront properties. Arrive early for the best chance of parking close and getting the best spot.
  • Very well looked after beach with life guards present at all the times which makes your stay at the beach more relaxed especially if you have little once with you. Sand and water are clean. Shops and cafes along the coast on a pricy side as to be expected, parking charges reasonable about £4-£5 for 4 hours. Lots to do around for the whole family.
  • We visited on a Tuesday afternoon. The beach itself is definitely one of the best of the few I've visited in the UK. The clear water isn't too far away, and the sand is perfect. With the lifeguards on duty, it's almost like a scene from Baywatch (or so I hear). The -1 star is for the lack of amenities nearby. The nearby cafe is probably poor and overpriced, and the only (useful) shop is the Tesco Express. The car park is a little expensive, but it's the price you pay for not having to walk down a cliff face further along the beach.
  • One of the best beaches we have been to in the UK! Crystal clear water white sand! Beautiful!!
  • Stunning beach and area , pure white sand and blue water , an absolute cracking day out with the family would recommend to everyone
