  • This is a gem in the heart of Pontypridd. Yes, right in the centre lies this amazing fun packed green environment suitable for all the family. The recently opened lido is fantastic. Offering heated outdoor swimming facilities, from lane swimming to inflatables. Great coffee shop and outdoor play park. Call the parks department to get access to on-site parking facilities for wheel chair users. Smashing!
  • A lovely park with playgrounds, pool, sports grounds and tennis courts. Bowling green and cricket club in grounds as well as toilet facilities. Historic statues golf course and first aid centre. Kiosks with refreshment and cafe on sight. Plenty of seating available a great choice for a day out with the family.
  • I love Ynysangharad Park in Pontypridd. I've been brought up in Pontypridd so the park was somewhere that I grew up going to in my youth. It is much the same as it has always been, clean and tidy and generally kept in good order. However, today the children's Park area has changed, there used to be the old children's swimming pool with the swings, slides and other fun stuff for kids around it. However, and more's the pity, the old swimming pool is gone and a new children's playground has emerged. It's in tip top condition but the old swimming pool was free for the kids when it was open. There were a lot of complaints when it was taken away to be replaced instead by the transformation of the old adults, outdoor swimming pool which is located next to the children's playground and has and always did have its own enclosure. Today, this outdoor swimming pool comprises of an adults pool and children's and toddlers pool all in the same area. The sad part is that now even the kids have to pay to go in. It's not much but still, some people would have preferred to have kept it the old way. However, on a positive note, the security around the pool is better and it does at least, looks very nice.
  • Lovely park with nice swimming pool and a rememberance garden for people who lost loved ones in the 1st world war, as not many were brought back home. Also tennis courts and a cricket pitch. In the play area there is a roundabout and a swing that is suitable for wheelchairs. Which I think is a brilliant idea.
  • Well used and loved space in Pontypridd. Kids play area and lido swimming pool which is heated but not undercover and not open all year round. It has cricket and football field. Would be nice for riverside walks but attracts the wrong sort of people.
