Burnby Hall Gardens and Museum are situated in Pocklington on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds. Originally the estate of adventurer and philanthropist Major Percy Stewart and his wife Katharine, the 9 acres of land, comprising 2 lakes and a National Collection of over 100 varieties of Hardy Water Lily, were left in trust on his death in 1962. The Gardens are a haven of tranquillity, and the Stewart Museum houses several exhibits of UNESCO standard. Children's events, outside theatre and band concerts are held during the spring and summer months. See www.burnbyhallgardens.com for full details.

  • A nice walk around the garden to be had here. You can also call in the cafe for refreshments. Perhaps a little pricey for entrance but the fish do give value for money.
  • Love this place been coming for nearly 20 year's since i was a child. Love to come feed fish. Lovely walk round the lake with really nice gardens great for picnics. Cafe does nice light lunches and a nice cuppa. Lovely place to bring young and old for a lovely day out.😀
  • Such a nice place. The fish are unreal. And the kids loved feeding the fish. Hundreds of fish to feed. Grounds are really attractive. Well worth a visit
  • I've been coming here since I was young and now I take my son and he loves it here too. Great place and feeding the fish is great fun and I especially love the water Lilly and taking photos of them. Some fabulous little garden walks too
  • Lovely gardens and lake full of fish you can feed with food purchased on the way in. There’s a magical wood at the back complete with a Hobbit-like dwelling! Other attractions are a museum and an Avery to name but a few.
