Where to stay in Plymouth

Lodging in Plymouth range from stylish brand names and cozy B&Bs, to affordable self-catering apartments and private inns. To be near the city's main attractions, stay near the waterfront. Farther inland, you can explore a world of less expensive but just as comfortable boutique hotels and hostels, all within walking distance of the city's finest shops, restaurants, and bars. For an even less expensive alternative, consider staying in the quiet suburbs. Though a bit far from the city center, suburban hotels offer top-quality rooms at a fraction of the cost of the big hotel chains.

  • We've been to Saltram several times over the years but this was the first time we have been around the gardens. Luckily the weather was perfect and we were blown away by the beauty and peace of the place. The gardens are also child friendly with space for games. I would have given five stars but the prices in the cafe and shop are so exclusive that I feel the NT has lost its way in encouraging ordinary working people to visit. This place is a gem, so close to a busy city but peaceful - just take your own picnic!
  • Handsome place. Beautiful garden, perfect for a good walk. The house is gorgeous and the staff is very friendly. Perfect for taking photos.
  • What can you say. One of the beautiful place in PLYMOUTH with great gardens and grounds. We have National trust membership so we used it as our extended garden. Such a nice atmosphere and lovely place. Never ever felt bored or tired. Fully natural and most pure oxygen you can get here. Good cycling tracks, lots of dog walkers with few annoying dogs. Great pond and restaurant service. Great walk and great great bird watching estuary. Most beautiful summer Time riots of colours. Oh boy since we left PLYMOUTH we die to go back to this place. Utterly Heavenly place. I wish such heaven were around London.
  • Nice place to take the kids, let them off the lead and go run. Easter egg hunts are brilliant
  • Nice place to walk around. Small play area for children 3+.
