I've not been karting at Plymouth for a while now, but decided to go back and make sure I've still got the knack. The karts have changed since I last went - before they used to have Sodi GT270s (with triangular exhausts) which were epic fun. They popped, banged and shot flames at those behind you, and they also had brake lights which was helpful. Sadly the new fleet of karts (which I think are Sodi RT8's) lack the raucous exhausts of their predecessors, but they're every bit as quick, and the matching of kart and track is perfect - they're quick enough to not be boring, yet not so quick that you can't briefly max them out for the back straight. It's a really good Arrive and Drive experience and well worth it. So in all, great experience as always and great fun. I just miss the noise of the old karts!
No sitting or restaurant facility. Very limited parking. If you are low on budget and just want ryanair karting experience, this is a great place to be.
Very, very fun. Slightly over priced
Just had an amazing day at Plymouth Karting. Took hubby and two boys age 8 and 9, the staff were really friendly and great with the kids who were new to this, the 30 min session was split down in to 10min slots which felt long enough but made the experience feel like it lasted longer, giving great value for money. As a spectator I was warm and comfy with a good view of everything which was a big bonus! We then did the laser tag which was brilliant, they really took care of the kids, when the group that were supposed to go in with us requested a scary "character" to come in with us, they offered for us to go in first just the four of us so the kids wouldn't be scared. The scary character was a chap whom it seems you can book to go in with you as different people, he had just been in with a group dressed up as some sort of bounty hunter, of which my boys were in awe. We had thought he would be busy getting changed for his next group, but he came in with us anyway, even though we didn't book him, he really made the experience something out of the ordinary for the youngest. I can't thank him enough or give this place a high enough rating! it takes a lot to impress me, but this place really pulled out all the stops.
