I personally love Saltram, the house and grounds are beautiful, no dogs allowed in the grounds, but there is a beautiful walk all the way around the perimeter, take a picnic on a sunny day and enjoy.  more »

Beautiful place to visit suitable for all the family. May be slightly biased as we are national trust members but there is something for everyone. Lots of paths for walks, runs, cycling, picnics, dog walks, children's play park, survival/outdoor skills, cafe catch ups and much more! This is all before I mention the beautiful house which is opened for all occasions and different events throughout the year. Would recommend to anyone in all weather.

Lovely dog walks here, accessible for all ages, wheel chair friendly. The cafe and shop is nice. It gets busy but we managed to park both times without a problem. Picnic tables and childrens area. Not been in the house yet as had my dogs so will definitely be going back.

Great place to visit. £2.00 to park for non national trust members. Dog friendly, lots if walks. Large duck pond, cafe, and a very interesting house and grounds to walk around.

Great grounds for jogging, walking, cycling etc. I did not go in the house as it didn't appeal to me. They have improved the parking and are doing additional ground works to create paths. The only downside of the grounds is that they have introduced pay to park but it's a reasonable price. £3. National trust so house entrance is extra. The is also a cafe and a small play park.

The house is good but hard to see as kept dark for obvious reasons, tour guides are knowledgeable, good to find out about local area. Cafe is not to bad, a bit pricey and parking at £3 a shot not good. The walk around the park is nice and just take your time.

Where to stay in Plymouth

Lodging in Plymouth range from stylish brand names and cozy B&Bs, to affordable self-catering apartments and private inns. To be near the city's main attractions, stay near the waterfront. Farther inland, you can explore a world of less expensive but just as comfortable boutique hotels and hostels, all within walking distance of the city's finest shops, restaurants, and bars. For an even less expensive alternative, consider staying in the quiet suburbs. Though a bit far from the city center, suburban hotels offer top-quality rooms at a fraction of the cost of the big hotel chains.
