  • We are talking about a simple garden protected by stone walls of houses. Certainly not a place to leave open-mouthed but certainly cute, quiet, warm space (really) on a sunny day. The garden is private but if you log on for free and is located in the very heart of downtown Plymouth (Barbican). Has two entrances.

  • A bit tricky to find. I have lived in Plymouth for years and never knew this treasure was there. Small but perfectly formed. Quiet and cool.

  • This is a gorgeous, entrance-free garden and a good way to kill some time. It's small, though, so don't expect to spend even an hour here. The entrance is in a commercial area, with tea a tea room and other amenities nearby. That's handy, but it can be easy to miss, so I've included a photo.
  • Beautiful oasis of peace on New Street. Must visit for tourists. David
