Where to stay in Plymouth

Lodging in Plymouth range from stylish brand names and cozy B&Bs, to affordable self-catering apartments and private inns. To be near the city's main attractions, stay near the waterfront. Farther inland, you can explore a world of less expensive but just as comfortable boutique hotels and hostels, all within walking distance of the city's finest shops, restaurants, and bars. For an even less expensive alternative, consider staying in the quiet suburbs. Though a bit far from the city center, suburban hotels offer top-quality rooms at a fraction of the cost of the big hotel chains.

  • Central Park is a great park located just off of Alma Road and Outland Road. It has beautiful greenery and is great for peaceful late afternoon walks in the summer. There is a large outdoor park located near the main road in the middle of the park, which has slides, swings etc., as well as a small water area for children to play in, great during the summer. Central Park is located just outside of Plymouth Life Centre, so is a great place to go after being there. There is a large car park on the Life Centre land, so has a good place to park the car. It is also a good place to walk the dog, if you have one.
  • It is a nice place for an afternoon out. There are play parks, open fields, golf course and ice cream vans. It is fun for everyone. Also houses the Life Centre which contains toilets and a café and Plymouth Argyle football club. Nice gardens and little bits of history can be found around the area.
  • Beautiful part of Plymouth. Only discovered this place after finishing my first year at the university. Also a great place for exercise or even a brisk walk. Certainly recommend for anyone either living in Plymouth or visiting.
  • Great place to walk dogs and park there for kids. Large open space and a nice way to walk into the city centre
  • Great playground and perfect for walking the dogs. On Sunday morning there is a big car boot sale by the park. Also by Life Centre, where there are swimming pools, café and gym.
