Queen's View, Pitlochry

Feel like royalty at Queen's View, where Queen Victoria enjoyed her favorite views. Pictures don’t do justice to what is said to be one of the most photographed views in Scotland. Revel over the sights of the River Tummel and the reflections of the mountains in the background. Afterwards, sip hot tea at the nearby tearoom. If driving, bring some extra change for parking. • We ended up at this place to avoid bad weather in Pitlochry. It was a fabulous drive to get there, with beautiful view of the Loch interspersed with lots of forested areas. When we arrived at the view...  more »
  • Queen's View is well worth a visit. Beautiful views down the Loch in both directions with the mountains in the distance.Up hill from the car park but manageable.  more »
  • After a very short walk uphill I was greeted with a stunning view of the area. The weather wasn't brilliant, but the sun was trying it's best to break through. You do have to pay £2 to park, but for m...  more »

  • It's a fine view, and I suppose many will think it is the best. However, there are better sights to be seen where Queens don't tread, and many of those viewpoints can be seen from the Queen's View itself! This very short walk is a decent introduction to Tay Forest Park. Stop here, have some lunch, check out the sights and plot your next stop. If you don't stop for food or the shop, this is a place that is easily done with in 15 minutes, which may make you think twice about the £2 parking fee.
  • Great views and a nice coffee shop. However in order to avoid the daft 2 pound parking tax just keep driving for 300 meters to the west and park opposite entrance door alloach car park for free and then just follow the foot path to queen's view. The path also had a split down to the banks of loch
  • Fab little cafe in one of my favourite spots never get tired of the view.staff are very friendly always make you feel very welcome the food is very good too
  • It was a very nice experience to visit Queens View. I visited the place with my in-laws and they were definitely mesmerized by the beauty.
  • Decent view, but not all that special if you travel around Scotland. Probably was grand 200 years ago when no other viewpoints were around. Not really worth the time it takes to drive off the main road and the road itself is pretty treacherous. I'd rate three stars but they also want you to pay for parking so that's another star off.

Where to stay in Pitlochry

B&Bs and inns along the town's high street, or main street, offer rooms under the building's black roofs and spires. The majority of the lodging in town is private or family owned, as well as centrally located. Apartments and guesthouses on the outskirts of town are situated among rolling hills and pristine countryside. Consider a cottage near the river in the Perthshire area for outdoor activities.
