Queen's View, Pitlochry

4.5
#2 of 215 in Things to do in Perth and Kinross
Feel like royalty at Queen's View, where Queen Victoria enjoyed her favorite views. Pictures don’t do justice to what is said to be one of the most photographed views in Scotland. Revel over the sights of the River Tummel and the reflections of the mountains in the background. Afterwards, sip hot tea at the nearby tearoom. If driving, bring some extra change for parking. We ended up at this place to avoid bad weather in Pitlochry. It was a fabulous drive to get there, with beautiful view of the Loch interspersed with lots of forested areas. When we arrived at the view...  more »

  • A great viewpoint looking down Loch Tummel. Good cafe with nice veranda overlooking the forest.
  • Beautiful view down the loch, good parking, places for a picnic, nice cafe.
  • I have travelled and visited most of Scotland. I have membership to both Historic Scotland and The National Trust for Scotland. This was my first visit to The Queen's View visitor centre. I found the car parking spacious and adequate for my visit in early May 2016. The café and shop were very clean and welcoming. The staff were helpful and friendly. The prices were about the same as I would have expected anywhere else. Why I have given this five stars are the toilets were immaculate as I would expect whenever I visit a well run establishment. A very good management team. Well done !!!
  • Nice view, plenty parking, cafe and shop.
  • One of the best views on the way up North, tempered by a two quid parking charge. We'll worth a visit if the weather's nice.

Where to stay in Pitlochry

B&Bs and inns along the town's high street, or main street, offer rooms under the building's black roofs and spires. The majority of the lodging in town is private or family owned, as well as centrally located. Apartments and guesthouses on the outskirts of town are situated among rolling hills and pristine countryside. Consider a cottage near the river in the Perthshire area for outdoor activities.
