(4.6/5 based on 180+ reviews on the web)
Take a stroll along the meandering paths of Black Spout Wood. Admire the eponymous waterfall from the viewing platform, positioned to frame the two-stepped cascade with leafy boughs. Keep an eye out for scampering critters and flitting birds--you might even spot some soaring birds of prey--and soak up the tranquil ambience. The path frequently becomes muddy, so make sure to wear appropriate footwear. Make Black Spout Wood a part of your Pitlochry vacation plans using our Pitlochry trip itinerary planner.

  • Whilst staying at Atholl Palace my husband and I walked through Black Spout Wood and it was amazing, beautiful and very tranquil. Awesome views.
  • I walked from Moulin village, over the fields, and past the ruins of Black Castle, to the woods. I ended up at Black Spout Waterfall, and what a waterfall. Such a long drop. It had the wow factor.
