  • We popped in for lunch after a walk with the dogs. We decided to sit out in a pleasant beer garden. The lady behind the bar was helpful and friendly and the beer(from their own brewery) was excellent. The food was really good and the portions were larger than we expected. This was served by a different member of staff, who again, was friendly and helpful. I would happily recommend this bar to anyone.
  • Visited yesterday for dinner. We are staying on holiday locally. Very disappointed overall. Firstly 3 of our 4 dishes stated they were served with a vegetable accompaniment. We decided to order an additional side of seasonal vegetables for the table. However, our meals came out without any vegetables and with one small bowl of vegetables to share. We shared our disappointment and another bowl was brought out. But worse, when we went to the bar to pay the tab, an additional 2 glasses of wine had been added to our bill! When I said "it says here we've had 6 glasses of wine..." to waitress immediately knew the error without me telling her we were over charged for 2. I can't help but think today that was our punishment for complaining about the vegetables. That aside, food was hot and fresh and nice. Decor is dated and in need of repair and a good clean in areas, especially the fitted seating.
  • First I would like to say that the food is fantastic and you will not be dissatisfied. With regard to the d├ęcor it is rather shabby, I do like old country pubs but this one needs updating rather a lot. Additionally the service wasn't great as they added drinks to our bill we didn't have and seemed to know this when we questioned it (are we stupid tourists?) Overall I would say this is only OK but very much only a local pub.
  • Popped in for dinner and a pint, absolutely fantastic burgers served medium rare as they should be! Friendly staff and unsurprisingly a lot of ales on tap.
  • Great little country boozer. Lots of nice beers brewed in the back garden!
