  • Great castle, great for photos. Staff were very friendly and informative. Very interesting history. Whilst you can walk freely around the Roman part of the castle you have to pay to get into the rest ...  more »
  • Lots about the castle through the ages. Audio guide available but information plaques everywhere. Great grounds with the 1066 walk nearby. A trip to Castle tea room a must with its 1930s design
  • This castle is a beautiful and historic ruin. It is easy to get to, and since the site is not very large, it is easy to get around and see everything there is to see.

  • Due to the antiquity of the site, and the fact that it was unused essentially since the late-Tudor times there is understandably little of the castle left at Pevensey. There are the outer walls (free to enter) and the ruins of the Keep (maintained by English Heritage and entry fee charged). Despite this, it is an incredibly atmospheric site - all the more so when you know even a little of the remarkable and pivotal role that events here had on English history. Definitely worth visiting, and an easy way to happily spend a summer afternoon.
  • Really enjoyed visiting this ruined castle. Quite a few things to see. Nice car park (only £2 for the day) probably better value of you are already a member but well worth a visit .
  • Really good audio tour! Well looked after castle.
  • Okay so it's historic rather than organised so you get out what you put in
  • Definitely worth the detour: beautiful walk in a place rich in history.
