  • 1 star is generous. This venue is under-staffed, poorly maintained and overpriced. The environment looks like its has had zero investment in the last 10 years it is very shabby. The hire skates are in poor condition, the first pair I received had torn lining, and a lump of metal that stuck in to the top of my foot. Returned them for a second pair which were slightly better but impossible to bear after 30 mins of skating. The hire booth is not manned all the time so we stood around waiting for someone to turn up. The lockers were out of order, the cash machine was out of order. Every table in the restaurant was dirty with the prior customers cups and plates left, and this place was NOT busy. My partner ordered some fries and after 30 minutes went to find out where they were. The server replied "oh I forgot about that" and handed him a box of stone cold chips. The very worst thing about my experience today was the cost. For 2 adults and 1 child it was £35 to get in and hire skates. We also paid £5 to hire a penguin for 1 hour and £2 to park. given the level of service, the condition of the skates and the shabby environment, this experience is shockingly overpriced. The management of this venue should be fired. This could be a great venue if it was run properly.
  • I used to go here once a week for ice skating lessons. The place is quite run down. The young staff seem to race around the rink and not pay much attention to nervous beginners. I have had problems with Skate Excellence staff not turning up for the lessons or the rink not being ready, and they won't go a minute over the allocated time. The staff aren't very friendly or helpful but it is the only rink for miles.
  • It's a pretty simple ice rink. I think the amenities could be a little better and the plastic boots are terrible, but the ice is usually in good shape and it's not that crowded.
  • Haven't been to Planet ice Peterborough for years but pleasant surprize when I realised they now have a cosy viewing heated bar area. Food and drinks available too.. Feel the £2 parking is a little cavalier. .
  • Fun but over priced
