  • Still, a family home this property was a joy to visit. During our visit, we learnt that a pop concert was being staged the next week
  • A real gem, slightly off the beaten track, and not open too often, it's well worth making the effort, with some real beauty in the house.
  • A very interesting house with plenty of history. The guides are friendly and all know their stuff about the house and family who still live there. The gardens are beautiful and we wish we had more tim...  more »

  • The hall and gardens have limited opening to visitors throughout the summer but for a minor stately home it is well worth a visit although the tour only covers part of the house because the rest is in use by the family.
  • Amazing place. I've been there during my spartan race
  • Great venue for a Spartan race
  • Nice garden and good opportunity to have a coffee there!
  • This place is crammed full off the most unexpected treasures I was literally gobsmacked. They have a Gainsborough and 2 small watercolors by Turner !!! And that's just 3 of a collection of hundreds of exquisite items mostly French and British. The house itself is smaller than most grand houses in Britain so there's time to experience it in some detail. Having said that I could quite easily visit again there's so much history and tales in every room. The gardens are really lovely and we spent a while sitting in the gothic conservatory. Again their not huge but exquisite nevertheless
