Take a walk in ancient woodlands and landscaped glades to Aira Force Waterfall, a 20 m (65 ft) waterfall in the Lake District. Hammer in a coin to make a wish at the Wish Tree. Extend your walk past the falls along the river, and glimpse smaller waterfalls and even some red squirrels. Wear good footwear, as the walk to the falls is steep and damp at times. • Such a beautiful place to visit. Quite busy and we were advised to go later in the afternoon but decided it didn't fit it with our plans. It would be nice to visit at a quiet time but it didn't affect our enjoyment of it at all. Kids loved to scramble over the river and we got some amazing photos 😍
  • Highly recommended. Great walk up to and around the falls. Great views of the water with some fantastic photo opportunities. Plenty of points to dip your feet in and just sit and watch the water pass by. You could easily get around the quick route in 45-60 mins. Or you can take your time and do it in around 2 hours.
  • Was visiting relatives so brought grandsons for the walk. Beautiful scenery & spectacular waterfalls. All enjoyed the walk in the fresh air. Took plenty of shots of some of the falls. If only it was warmer (and allowed!) a dip in some of the pools might have been refreshing: as it is, made do with skimming stones along with grandsons.
  • Lots of people when we came, most of them visiting the waterfall only so ill prepared for the rocky paths. The waterfall itself is nice, but I would say that the river itself is nicer. Explore the mountain next to the waterfall, the views from there are much more worth the trip. Sturdy shoes required.
  • A beautiful place full of smaller walks going off to the left and right if you want to explore more. The whole area is stunning and the main walks are suitable for walkers of all abilities, including my three year old!
