  • What a lovely park for an afternoon stroll! I called here quickly completely by chance and it’s a wonderful place. I would certainly look to come back with my family and the dog!  more »
  • A very tranquil area, great for walking. Lots of ducks and swans. Nice coffee shop which would benefit from an indoor doggy area  more »

  • Beautiful place to visit especially during the warmer months. There is a lovely large park which has had a revamp in the last few years and a large bbq area to book and hire. Lots of lovely birds to spot and the kids love feeding the ducks. The swans are from from shy so keep the smaller ones close! Windsurfing can be watched on the lake sometimes too. Dog friendly and can also make use of the canter track if you have registered to take your horse here too. Lots of different length walks around the lake area ranging from around 1 mile to 12 miles long!! At the rear of the park is the medieval village with shows and live demonstrations some months of the year. Very adequate parking and a lovely little cafe on site. Public toilets near the car park and cafe are clean too and well managed. A really lovely day trip with a picnic.
  • Old quarry turns into a nature reserve two lakes full of wildlife nice woods cafe and free parking. Great for bbq and families and dogs.
  • Great place for the dog but you need to be careful of cyclists.
  • Great place for all to thoroughly enjoy nature all year around.
  • The lakes were formed after the former limestone quarry was abandoned. Some quiet clean water sports are allowed by local clubs, with production of liability insurance and booking 24 hours in advance. Activities like fishing, Camping and swimming are not allowed anywhere within the park. Scuba diving is a permitted activity for a small charge. The lake is approximately 9 metres deep. There is nothing left on the bottom from the original quarry workings.
