Pembroke Dock is the site of Wales only Royal Dockyard, seeing over 250 vessels, including five Royal Yachts built and launched here over its 112 year active lifetime. During the second world war, the RAF took residence in the dockyard, and it grew to become the world's largest flying boat station, and played a vital role in the Battle of the Atlantic.

  • Very good. Cheap entry. I got a book for £2 from the second hand bit which was good. They have a workshop in the middle where they restore pieces of the Sunderland they have raised from the sea. The staff are friendly and helpful also knowledgeable. 4* because it was a little repetitive and not much variety.
  • Very friendly and informative. All staff were volunteers and were keen informed enthusiasts. Made to feel very welcome.
  • It was the flying boat museum that was my destination - one of the most extraordinary place - steeped in history - should not be missed lest we forget the sacrifices that were made by previous generations
  • Small volunteer run museum. Good exhibits and about the only thing to see on this town.
  • Highly recommend centre for local history / heritage focused on the Shorts Flying boat. Enthusiastic, helpful knowledgeable and friendly staff and a lovely little snack bar. Plenty of free parking - wheelchair access throughout and clean toilets.
