  • Another visit to the zoo...some areas are looking worn out and need of repair whilst others are impressive. So sad to see the 5 lions in a very small enclosure with just mud and no grass whatsoever. U...  more »
  • Would highly recommend ! Very reasonable admission price (especially compared to London Zoo) The Zoo is massive and as a result we didn't have time to get round everything. All the animals look very w...  more »

  • Absolutely fantastic, one of the better zoos I've ever been to. We spent about 4 or 5 hours doing the whole thing, a great afternoon spent there. They had a very interesting selection of animals to see, some in very close proximity with big open bird cages. If you happen to go during the summer you must see the Close Encounters exhibit, they have amazing birds flying millimeters above your head!
  • Nice zoo with a good selection of animals to see. They seem to be big on the environment and animal conservation which is good to see. The bird of prey show is one to see if you want to get close to the birds, they fly right over your head, so close that you can feel them; my kids loved it! I liked that they sell water in recyclable card-based packaging, not in plastic bottles; more places should do this.
  • An amazing zoo! Staff very knowledgeable and helpful. Talks very informative. Animal enclosures also very well built so animals seem happy but enough viewing space to be able to see them. Lots of different species and also some rarer varieties. Zoos are always a little pricey for a day out but people really need to invest in the conservation of the amazing animal. We have the year pass and considering how often we go it is fantastic value for money.
  • Amazing day out. Worth saving the pennies for. Two teenagers and a 12 year old very happy. Plus my husband was so happy to see Red pandas so close up. Elephant talk about Duchess very interesting. Although very sad she has lost her friend her lack of eyesight means it's for her own safety that she is a singular Elephant. We loved the sheer variety of animals and I found a personal fondness for the swamp monkey... such a cute face :). Some of zoo might not be so easy if you are in a wheelchair but I felt lots of effort had been made for those with additional needs.. the signs for each animal, the sensory garden and audio commentary. Didn't eat here but lots of picnic areas and ice cream type stalls. Gift shop had a great variety of things for a great variety of prices.Thoruoghly enjoyable day.
  • Love this zoo. Its massive and def a day trip out. There are lots of places to have food and some undercover spots for picnics. Beware.... It is very hilly and requires a lot of walking but is manageable if you're not in a rush!! The gift shop is lovely, restaurant is nice but busy. A super day out!!
