  • The best zoo in Europe. Lots of creatures to keep your own little creatures entertained! I've been visiting the zoo for 40 years and can't remember having a bad day there, even if it's been raining. There are some terrific animals to see, all the ones you would expect to see and a few surprises here and there too, all situated in a pleasant area that is really easy to get around. There are a few steep parts but there are plenty of benches to sit on along the way. Also you can catch the little train and tour the zoo in style, toot toot! There are a few areas for children to play, two outside apparatus and an indoor soft play. You can eat a picnic in any of the outside zones and there is a couple of fast food kiosks and one large restaurant serving reasonably priced food. Most importantly, there are lots of places to get strong coffee to help you keep up with your little monsters. If you are local then it's a good idea to get a yearly pass as you can go back as much as you want. The staff are always friendly and will answer any questions you may have. I will definitely be going again.
  • Really great day here. Quite expensive entry but worth every penny. They also offer a seven day return for £7 which is very reasonable. Very large park to walk around so maybe take a seat as there aren't that many around and it's very hilly. The animal enclosures were great. All had a lot of space and appropriate toys/climbing frames etc. The animal talk was very informative, only managed to hear one as there was only an hour between each and we didn't want to rush from one place to another. I LOVED that they had the British Sign Language signs around the exhibits. A step to inclusion is great. I believe it was all wheelchair/pushchair accessible and if there were any parts not then they wouldn't affect the day as we didn't encounter issues and feel we saw everything. Recommend for all 0-110 We were there for 5 hours!! We did stop for lunch in the cafe. Good selection of food and average prices when eating out. One of our favourite days from our holiday.
  • Fantastic zoo. Plenty of free parking. Easy walking around with lots to see. Paid for a ticket which got us into living coasts and the zoo at a discounted rate. It was a warm dry day but there are many under cover areas if it is wet. Adventure play grounds for the kids too and a good restaurant. A really brilliant day out for the family.
  • Lovely visit to the Zoo today. As usual friendly helpful staff. Very clean and tidy. Lovely to see the animals at this time of year. They are about more in the cooler weather. As usual well worth the visit and a fantastic day was had be all our party.
  • Had an amazing time at the zoo. So many great animals in lovely enclosures. The zoo is nicely spread out, so although it was busy it never felt too crowded. Really good talks throughout the day, and you can see some of the animals getting fed at the same time (the baboons and gorillas were the best). Food wasn't too pricey, and there's a good range of different things. Just be careful the seagulls don't steal your ice-cream!
