University of Oxford, Oxford

(4.7/5 based on 1,100+ reviews on the web)
At University of Oxford, tread the same paths as some of history’s greatest thinkers, scholars, and world leaders. Oxford was the first university in the English-speaking world, existing in some form since 1096, and remains at the forefront of learning, teaching, and research. Explore where its students live and study by visiting some of the university’s 38 colleges, each with a distinct identity. The university boasts some of the world’s finest libraries and museums, with exquisite architecture. The Bodleian Library, dating from 1602, has one of the world’s most well-regarded collections. Its artifacts include a Gutenberg Bible, the earliest surviving book written in English, and almost 10,000 western medieval and Renaissance manuscripts. Visit the Ashmolean Museum, established in 1683 (making it one of the oldest museums in the world), and see works by Michelangelo, da Vinci, and Picasso. Rest your brain and stretch your legs in the University Parks’ 28 hectares (70 acres) of beautiful parkland, or climb the tower of University Church of St. Mary the Virgin, which offers panoramic views of the city. Check out some of the podcasts the University makes freely available, which include audio guided tours with different routes to choose from. • Is very nice and cared for like everything else in Oxford. You can take a stroll and enjoy the beauty all day. Do not take bus but do everything on foot. You save £ 15 per person and you day passes smoothly.

  • One feels smart just walking around the University of Oxford. Its colleges are very beautiful and some places, such as Worcester College, have sleeping quarters for students that date back 700 years. ...  more »
  • Imagine an older University Center that Brazil is surreal. Walking the streets of Oxford stories on each University building (you'll see there that there is no "the" Oxford University; but several Colleges she bound and tds with several very different courses of Brazil). The buildings are so fascinating that many sites were used for recordings as Harry Potter and etc.

  • Lovely campus. Felt like went back to 19th century. Good environment. Very big campus. The city tour was also good.
  • We visited the campsite it was amazing loved it sooo much. Recommend it to anyone who has the potential to go university!
  • I went there and I was bullied for not being upper class and rich enough. There is always someone better than you at everything. Worst 3 years of my life. :(
  • It's amazing ! This University becomes the second one in the whole world. That makes me feel more excited to study at it.
  • i was so exiticed for my brother when was accepted into Oxford, but my impression went down because I had meet some of the students and they where not very friendly. One of my English tutors in my lecture who was educated here said "let's talk to Isis" when he was doing a lecture to my school which I found very odd. But the campus should be the 7th wonder of the world it is so beautiful
