University of Oxford, Oxford

4.6
At University of Oxford, tread the same paths as some of history’s greatest thinkers, scholars, and world leaders. Oxford was the first university in the English-speaking world, existing in some form since 1096, and remains at the forefront of learning, teaching, and research. Explore where its students live and study by visiting some of the university’s 38 colleges, each with a distinct identity. The university boasts some of the world’s finest libraries and museums, with exquisite architecture. The Bodleian Library, dating from 1602, has one of the world’s most well-regarded collections. Its artifacts include a Gutenberg Bible, the earliest surviving book written in English, and almost 10,000 western medieval and Renaissance manuscripts. Visit the Ashmolean Museum, established in 1683 (making it one of the oldest museums in the world), and see works by Michelangelo, da Vinci, and Picasso. Rest your brain and stretch your legs in the University Parks’ 28 hectares (70 acres) of beautiful parkland, or climb the tower of University Church of St. Mary the Virgin, which offers panoramic views of the city. Check out some of the podcasts the University makes freely available, which include audio guided tours with different routes to choose from. • Place for a stroll and imbedded in the student environment and almost magical that this occurs. If you like history and culture in general, you should not miss it.

  • We were a few days in Oxford and the city and University are made of film. I advise to do a walking tour with Guide to enjoy more than the city. Collages, the University, the streets, the shops... everything is delicious. Highly recommended although it is difficult to Park, you should go to one of the park & ride lot that have, for example near the station

  • A very great university and a very great location, the education is amazing I highly suggest it. One thing tho is the experiences but apart from that, 5/5 stars DEFINITELY!
  • Nice one university in United kingdom. This university situated in a good place .
  • I saw the college at Google map really it look so nice and I also liked the surrounding area of this college. So I pretend that it would be a great university thank you.
  • I would recommend anyone to go here! Just make sure you are able to fund this education facility. I am delighted to go here! My parents, gave me this as my 28th birthday gift. I just arrived 3 years prior to this school from Harvard Law school!
  • Beautiful place to visit. If you know someone at the university it's free to visit most places at the university if they accompany you.
