  • We came across this while visiting the area with our young son and dog. The ground is not ideal for a pushchair but it's do-able. Our dog loved the open space to run and being able to dip in and out o...  more »

  • Port meadow is a great place for long walks, jogging, yoga..you name it. Plenty of dog walkers, lots of natural beauty, good place to have a picnic. There is an allotment in this meadow where locals grow fresh vegetables and fruits. It is really big and a great place to unwind.
  • Lovely place to go for a walk, especially with dogs. Nice for kids too. There's a river people swim in when it's warm and there are often horses or cows roaming the field. There's parking nearby too
  • Beautiful views along river great for a family walk or picnic.... safe for kids to use canoes and kyacks etc.....public toilets available
  • This is the largest piece of common-land under 1000' in England. Ok, a carefully specified claim, but it is an amazing space in a city. Wilder than the University Parks - tougher footwear recommended, especially in winter - visit to enjoy walks short or long, to try to visualise prehistoric life here on the rich flood plain (Round Hill, so called, is a rare bit of evidence for that in Oxford), or reimagine the Civil War lines at each end... Or just to see the sky, the river, and, especially when the centre is flooded - winter months - the birds.
  • Lovely walks. Recommend parking at the small carpark in Jericho and walk to the Perch or enjoy the riverside walk.
