Bill Spectre's Ghost Trails Reviews
Bill Spectre is a great performer and had the whole crowd interested and amused. We were a fairly large group, maybe 25-30 people, but there was no problem hearing or seeing Bill. His management of th... more »
Más allá de que era un grupo demasiado grande, me pareció más un espectáculo infantil que una caminata turística. El guía es principalmente un mago y si eso es lo que buscás, está perfecto. The guide is primarily a magician and if that's what you're looking for, he's perfect. He didn't convince me. They should make it clear that this is a boys' show. I was hoping for something different. It would have been preferable to spend that money on some other walk (for an Argentine it is quite expensive). It was the only tour I did in England that I didn't like.
Perfect tour! We enjoyed it very much. Bill Spectre’s ghos trails is the ultimate Oxford tour to take. more »
We've done this tour two years ago and repeated it again this year. Even though it was exactly the same we enjoyed it both times. Bill has a real passion for it.
Marvellous. We've been on a few ghost tours/walks and this is the best so far. Oxford is an amazing setting for anything spooky but Bill really is a true showman and is the star of the show. Some tours have gotten a bit boring some way into them but Bill keeps the entertainment coming and had us in stitches. He beats other tours because his production feels slightly more polished and well thought out. He also has a very good voice, straight out of a horror movie. If you are thinking of booking this just do it. You probably won't find better.
It’s good fun
Rumour has it that there aren't actually many ghost stories in Oxford, although there is a secret Inklings one that the Tour Guides keep to themselves... Still, you wouldn't know it from Bill Spectre's famously good Ghost Trail, which is done in a theatric / Shakespearian style, with lots of unexpected twists and turns. A real highlight for me was being called as a volunteer to run down New College lane clapping two coconut shells together - definitely gets you out of your comfort zone. Having been in Oxford 5 years, I would say this tour definitely gave me some interesting banter, and a lot of locals recommend it as one of the more unique and well thought-through attractions in the city.
My Wife convinced me to join Bill Spectres tour as she had been previously with our visiting American family and I'm so glad i decided to go along. With a little bit of audience participation which is great fun (I was touched on the shoulder by an old Oxford spirit) Mr Spectre glides you through Oxford with such theatre and insight the tour is not to be missed. Highly recommended if you are a local or visiting Oxford for the first time.
