We had time to visit one college and it was Balliol. We were pleased with our choice. The gardens were particularly well designed and suited the architecture well. The portraits in the great hall were...  more »

Smaller than its neighbours and competitors (it's relative because each college is a city within the city), Balliol College is still worth a visit for the bucolic charm that comes out (very pretty gardens) and this side very british that is found in every part of the building into its refectory, very "Harry Potterien" since now, and the absence of another culture ", we are slightly contaminated by this representation ' childish" on the big screen. A halt to consider between shopping sessions, Balliol College is located in the centre, Broad Street, street famous for its bookshops, including the famous Blackwell, with its black front and letters gold, 48/50. A visit that is required to complete its oxfordienne culture.

  • One of the most liberal college in Oxford. Sometimes the hall is open to public. Food is average but fantastic environment.
  • incredible place. Amazing Chapel and gardens.
  • Only 2 pounds to enter, well worth it. It is small but beautiful, with a hall and cathedral.
  • Stayed for two nights and it was amazing experience.
  • We entered with 2 adults and 3 children for only 4 £. Including a paper guide. Impressive gardens, buildings and hall.
