  • Fantastic. Loads for kids and adults alike. Interactive exhibits, good info boards, all staff were friendly, short train ride, lovely setting and wildlife walks. Under 3s play room. Activity sheets. Fascinating history of all aspects of mining (technical, political, strikes, art, communities, disasters, hygiene ). Good cafe, not a rip off. Free entry too.
  • Great for all the family, lots to do and learn. The trip underground was very good and the tour guides (ex-miners) have been excellent. We've been several times and we would visit again
  • Great place to visit with kids playground and a free museum. The mine is well worth a trip especially if you haven't been before. Will easily fill half a day and the cafe is large with friendly staff.
  • Am absolutely marvellous day out. We've lived near here for years and never ventured, but we're glad we did. Some excellent historical context to the mining industry and you MUST do the underground mining experience. It's absolutely eye opening.
