  • Lyveden is difficult to find but well worth the effort. It throws a different light on Elizabethan England, showing how one family was affected by the reformation.
  • I visited with my partner on a Sunday afternoon. The entrance fee of £6.50 per adult did seem quite a lot, but this secluded piece of history provided for quite a different day out. There is quite a b...  read more »

  • Quaint place to spend a lovely relaxing afternoon in the sun. Love coming here very special.
  • Good for a couple of hours, maybe a picnic. Dog friendly. Free car park. Interesting history. Tea shop. You can get inside the bield.
  • National trust owned .... we had a good time walking around and stopped at the tea shop which was reasonably priced . well worth a visit ...
  • Brilliant day out with my children. Very friendly staff, lovely area to explore and yummy food. Can't wait to return and explore the family shed, full of games and things to help explore with.
  • A lovely afternoon for people that love the great outdoors with a bit of history thrown in. The building itself is pretty much as you see it in the pictures. It is nice to actually wander around and you can see why the chap wanted to build a house there. Some lovely walks too. We did the Lyveden Way (or most of it) which you can download and print off before you go. Dogs are welcome but you will need to keep them on the lead in places by the New Bield itself and some of the farm fields nearby. The dogs flushed out a stag deer and lots of pheasants from the nearby woods so we saw quite of bit of wildlife too.
