  • Full of information on the Viking Video to keep all ages watching and a nice costal walk passed the remains of the round church circle walk great views wounderfull views  more »
  • Small building with several information boards explaining the Orkneyinga sagas located next to the Earls Bu. Brief visit, informative but not worth a big detour for but worth stopping if passing...  more »
  • This is a great (free) place with an interesting exhibition and a remarkable historic site. Situated close to the coast it is possible to visit the very places mentioned in the saga literature...  more »

  • This centre provides background information on the Saga as a literary form as well as information about the Orkneyinga saga specifically and the major characters. Most of the reviews have not highlighted the awesomeness that was the genealogy display for the saga. In retrospect, all Earls of Orkney descending from Nicholas Cage makes total sense. I'm not sure why it isn't always shown that way. I was hoping to find someone to contact for a key to the other portraits, but was unable to. The four vs. five stars is largely because it is not staffed, so there is no one to discuss the information with or to answer questions.
  • This attraction has a toilet which is useful. It's also free to visit. Inside the centre it is small, musty and dated. There is not a lot to see outside. You may enjoy it if you are really really into vikings.
  • Interesting film, handy toilets and kept the rain off! Very useful!
  • Did not have time to take in all info but looks to be s good source of info on Icelandic and Scandinavian influence on Orkney
  • Great . And recently refurbished
