  • Appalling facilities for people with walking/climbing problems! OK, it's a castle, there are steep steps to get inside. However, you expect some effort to be made once inside, and you've paid your ent...  more »
  • This was our first ever visit, despite being EH members and having Orford just over an hour away, so we thought we'd pay it a visit. Orford castle is quite an unusual castle insomuch as the keep (all ...  more »
  • You can clamber up the tower and admire the view and read the story of Orford in the small local museum inside. I am still haunted by the sad story of the fish man, which reminded me of Golem in Lord ...  more »

  • Great family outing activities for everyone. In the day there are talks by people dressed up from medieval times informing all with jokes and fun facts that are entertaining for all ages. The history of the place comes alive with the audio recordings provided as part of the castle tour. The castle walk has wonderful views. All of which can be done in half a day. The facilities are excellent. Clean toilets gift shop small but adequate for souvenirs. Staff are very friendly and helpful. There's a cafe inside and for disabled people they can sit and watch a walking tour of the place inside. However since the place is only ever accessible in good weather as it is a castle ruin I can't give it 5 but I highly recommend the place.
  • We were delighted to have a tour by Christian. We were the last tour of the day he was so informative with great energy and enthusiasm. He was funny and answered all questions and comments with skill. The tour made the visit really memorable and we will be back soon
  • Long surviving and significant historical Keep stakes a lonely vigil over Suffolk coastline. Certainly worth a visit if you're in the surrounds..... now...Keep this in mind.
  • The castle is fascinating and we all (including children, some quite young) enjoyed the audio guide, which was very interesting.
  • Great place to look round. From the roof you get excellent views. Not too expensive.
