  • Came across this by chance as there had been an accident on the A433/A429 and we took a detour around it. What a truly fascinating place. Although the entrance fee seemed a little steep, we felt it wa...  read more »
  • A most enjoyable and informative way to spend a couple of hours. The guide was very informative and amusing, and the mechanical instruments were fascinating. Well worth a look.

  • What a little gem of a museum, the instruments are fascinating and the tour guides ever so knowledgeable (and entertaining). It's hard to describe how much history is packed into one museum. This place is great.
  • We came across this purely by accident, but are glad we did. Pay for the guided tour and you won't be disappointed as each instrument is wound and played to illustrate the history of these magic musical boxes. From the very early drum and pin to the paper roll piano playing the individual sound of a virtuoso.
  • The guide enhanced our visit by allowing a blind friend to hand some artefacts, and talked about the instruments with entertaining demonstrations. The tour took almost two hours, but it didn't seem like it! I'd recommend it as an unusual museum to visit. Do go!
  • A fantastic visit to a wonderful museum of mechanical music, I enjoyed every second I was there, expert guides demonstrating fully restored instruments from their own workshops, highly recommend a visit
  • Some amazing machines here. The tour is dense with information; historical, technical and cultural. The tour guide David was very nice and very welcoming to us, even with an 8 month old baby!
