(3.2/5 based on 1,400+ reviews on the web)
Thrill yourself on Europe's longest roller coaster and a range of other rides at Lightwater Valley Theme Park. Stretching for 24 km (15 mi) through a forested area and climbing hills with heights of 31 m (102 ft) and 32.6 m (107 ft), The Ultimate provides a long shot of adrenaline and views over the park and surrounding area. Many of the rides and attractions sit in elaborately themed areas, such as the pirate world of Skeleton Cove and the Angry Birds activity area, which contains pig tunnels, climbing walls, and large touchscreens based on the hit game. Take thrilling rides on Wild River Rapids and Falls of Terror, or opt for tamer fun aboard the Lightwater Express miniature train and in the animal-filled Eagles' Creek Farm. • We visited the shopping village for the first time in February as we were staying in the area. Not as big as we thought it was going to be but we found a good selection of shops and goods and undercov...  more »
  • We went with our two grand daughters. They had a super day, very good value for £6.00 per ticket. Good outdoor play area. The girls loved the rides that were open, and free parking.  more »
  • Overpriced for what it is but not a bad place! I liked it better when it was based around farm animals that was the best times what I remember of it!  more »

  • A great theme park for midrange kids and families. A nice blend of rides and attractions with some thrill rides for the older kids. I particularly loved the long roller coaster with its magnificent views over North Yorkshire. Only one down side was the only cash machine in sight charged for its services which was annoying when the food places didn't take cards. The Angry Birds themed area is far superior to that of Thorpe Park.
  • Great when you can get the £15 tickets. I really like how the park is organised: big fast rides are always situated near the smaller ones. This makes visiting with a variety of aged children easy as they are never hanging around waiting.
  • Had a great time, loads to do. Only problem was for my little girl who is 8 going on 18 but pretty small for her age. She would have gone on all the rides but height restrictions wouldn't allow. I had checked this out before hand and chose here rather than Flamingo Lands due to at more rides being accessible as long as I was with her (which is definitely not a problem), so would recommend this is checked out before hand. As I did, still happy to award 5 stars, as everything else was great and we had a fab day. Enjoy!
  • Took our six year old. Good price and a good day out. Had enough to keep us all entertained. Accidentally took him on the Raptor Attack, am experience that will live with him for a long time :)
  • Queues always reasonable. Rides thrilling for young children to early teens
