Thrill yourself on Europe's longest roller coaster and a range of other rides at Lightwater Valley Family Adventure Park. Stretching for 24 km (15 mi) through a forested area and climbing hills with heights of 31 m (102 ft) and 32.6 m (107 ft), The Ultimate provides a long shot of adrenaline and views over the park and surrounding area. Many of the rides and attractions sit in elaborately themed areas, such as the pirate world of Skeleton Cove and the Angry Birds activity area, which contains pig tunnels, climbing walls, and large touchscreens based on the hit game. Take thrilling rides on Wild River Rapids and Falls of Terror, or opt for tamer fun aboard the Lightwater Express miniature train and in the animal-filled Eagles' Creek Farm. Choose from a range of eateries, and dine outside without packing your own picnic by visiting one of the outdoor eating areas. • This theme park was ok, disappointing that the big rollercoaster wasn’t on. Kids enjoyed the rides they could go on. Queues weren’t too bad. Probably won’t go again.

  • Perfect theme park for children under 12 years old. We visited at the weekend and the kids had the best time ever. We went on the tree top nets first before hitting the rides. They loved the new park and huge sand pit! And the water slide was definitely their favourite! Would definitely recommend a visit here!
  • Excellent theme park to visit for younger children probably up to 12, not many big rides. Perfect for toddlers to teens. Prices are great. Fast past wristbands available but tbh not needed as queues weren't long. Tree top trail was excellent and included in price. Lots of places for picnics and places to buy food too. Parks dotted around for kids to play on, angry birds park is awesome my kids loved it!
  • This theme park has radically changed since its roots. It is now more of a kids theme park with simple child friendly rides. We knew this before visiting and came especially for our little one. There are many rides however queues were taking a long time. Some rides had 3 carts (to take 3 families) but only 1 cart was moving at a time making the queue time 3x as long. Other than that a good day out
  • Slight shame they are clearly aiming for the younger age and can't compete with the likes of Alton Towers. The Ultimate Roller-coaster and what used to be the Rat/Raptor Ride haven't been replaced with anything similar. The most roller-coaster there is is The Ladybird Roller-coaster which has been there for as long as I was a child. If your ake the view of my children though they had a lovely day out with all the rides being appropriate for them. I would recommend bringing drinks and food as the *fish and chips* family price was shocking for what it was. As long as you come prepared it will be a great day out in the sunshine 😉
  • A good day out for the price if you have young kids. Most of the good rides are gone, other than Eagles Claw and the pirate ship. The whole place has a more family-friendly focus, with a poor attempt at a nature trail. Kids 10 and below will really enjoy it. Went with a group of 12 year old girls, who still really enjoyed it, although they just kept going on the same rides time and time again. Wasn't too busy on Easter Monday, with only minimal queuing for the rides.
