This was not a good meal, I felt a bit cheated, probably about a half dozen chips on my sons plate. I still like value for money and did not get that feeling, after I complained yes she was apologetic...  more »

A beautiful place even if walking. A lot of dogs. There is a restaurant on the quay. Italian cuisine restaurant and a very cute girls. Beautiful views and lots of fun.

Not to be confused with the nearby shopping mall-there is no connection between the two and there are no shops here! We have visited multiple times to visit our friend's small yacht. The staff at the ...  more »

  • Its a beautiful place for a wander. If you're of restricted mobility its flat and well paved. One lap of the marina dock, crossing the lock gates and walking to the very end at the base of the little waterfall coming from the park is about 0.8 miles. Make it a mile by walking right down on the other side of the lock past the trawler berths and back or for those with better mobility climb the ramp or stairs and do a lap or two of the park or continue to the outlet centre. As previously mentioned rubbish in the marina dock detracts from an otherwise perfect scene although I realise it will wash in with the tide as the lock gates open. Other marinas can control it so why not Royal Quays?
  • Lush place to visit with the kids & dog. Always clean and looked after, plus its nice to watch the boats.
  • Great place to go dog walks at the Earl of Zealand. Lovely park and waterways. New cafe to open shortly. Busy Marina.
  • Really nice place to walk. Lovely park up the bank and the marina is full with lovely boats. However, the is a lot of dog mess around.
  • Fascinating place to wander around. We park at Royal Quays and walk the marina path to North Shields. The kids love all the boats and other little distractions along the way. Make sure you take your camera as there are plenty of photo opportunities.
