Fistral Beach Bar, Newquay

4.6
#1 of 69 in Beaches in Cornwall
The surfing at Fistral Beach Bar is legendary due to its west-facing position, which exposes the golden sands to Atlantic swells. You can rent everything for your entire family to surf or bodyboard at the "Surf Hire" station, as well as sign up for lessons for every skill level. The Fistral Complex, a touristy mall right on the beach, offers shopping and a quick bite. If you're feeling adventurous and want to see more of the coast, go on a coasteering adventure. Guides lead you along the coast, through caves, up cliffs, and around pools of water where you'll see seals and diverse sea creatures. • Beautiful beach. Good features i.e food toilets , lifeguards. It's a bay and very popular with Surfers. However the main car park by the beach has NO Blue Badge spaces and the bays are very small. I had to get on the end of a row to able to get out of car. Plus your paying quite a lot to park here.
  • Great beach. Perfect for body boarding and surfing. Tide comes very high up so make sure you leave your stuff above the tide line. Good facilities here too. Coffee/burger bar at the south end with a surf school and at the north end you have some restaurants and bars that are good for lunch and evening meal.
  • Great beach! Lifeguards on patrol. Great atmosphere. Good for surfing and body boarding - all separated in to sections. Good shops here and the people are really nice. Plenty of parking. Council car parks aren't a long walk away if you don't grab a spot on the road to the beach.
  • Good sandy beach. Very popular with surfers. Shower and foot shower on the beach. Toilet facilities. Great shops that stock everything you could possibly want for the beach. Surfing lessons available. Lots of places to eat and drink including a bar. Parking is free for blue badge holders. A charge applies to all other drivers. Not an easy beach to access if you have limited mobility. Very popular and crowded beach.
  • Great wide gradually sloping beach right on the edge of Newquay. Picturesque drive to access it, just north of Newquay. Parking will be an issue in high season in the smallish car park for which you have to pay. Lots of places to eat at the entrance to the beach with a famous fish restaurant there too. Mentioning no names!! Surf schools dotted round too with a permanent RNLI presence all season. Great place to chill and recharge. 😎
