Great day out a place all children should visit very educational and moving and I have to say a bit spooky but very enjoyable
Always good, visited lots of times. Good to teach children about history of the War, especially if you're local.
Nice view in the morning you can see rabbits running around.
If you have an interest in military history, then you'll probably enjoy this attraction.
Newhaven Fort makes a refreshing change from many of the 'commercial' attractions in the area: it is very reasonably priced and understated. You really get a feel for the history of the place - it feels like a 'real' fort, not an artificial tourist attraction. The exhibitions are interesting and have obviously been put together with care. There's enough here to keep children occupied for a couple of hours, even if they are too young to be interested in the exhibitions - tunnels, gun emplacements and 'dungeons' to explore, a play area, and the 'blitz experience'. The only reason I can think that this place isn't more busy is that it is off the beaten track and they probably don't spend money on advertising!
An enjoyable way to spend a couple of hours
Free entry a nice day out
