Really impressive little Hall and gardens with alot of history. Well worth a visit but would keep away from when the American cruise liners are in!  more »

  • Smaller than many other National Trust sites it may be, but it's very pretty and after a few visits I'm still not tired of going there. Its best when the sun is shining or at least when the rain is keeping off, as I think the highlight are the gardens. I intend to be there a few times over the summer. The on site car park is small and when it's busy maneuvering is challenging but that is the nature of the site. Outside is mostly wheelchair accessible but sometimes this means taking a circuitous route as there are many steps and other obstacles. As well as a few unpaved paths that may prove difficult in the wet.
  • This hidden gem is well worth a short detour off the A1. The Hall's history is fascinating, the formal gardens are small but perfectly formed and the Nuttery is a haven for conservation. And, naturally, the Geordie staff were warm, welcoming and well informed.
  • Nice National Trust site to spend a couple of hours at. Small, but interesting site. The kids (aged 4-7) loved it.The new cafe is a bonus too. I'd recommend a visit.
  • Beautiful gardens .historic manor house . Tea shop .bird hide and wildflower walk. Small property but worth a visit
  • Nice little spot to throw away a few hour's, kids really enjoyed the small park and nature walk. Loads of info around the hall and grounds, one of two activities in the hall for kids to get involved with so they enjoyed it too. During school holidays, alot more going on.
