  • If you're just short in Newcastle, gate should not necessarily be the visit list. It's just a cold store with some pubs and movie theaters. May be that it is busier in the evenings, during the day but rather sad and empty. Must not be!

  • Loads of places to have a meal or a drink. It also has a Cinema if you want to see the latest blockbusters and a casino if you fancy a flutter.  more »
  • What we enjoyed about The Gate was its Za Za Bazaar. For a reasonable 9 pounds or so, you can get an all-you-can eat lunch up until 5 pm (when they kick you out) It has all kinds of international food...  more »

  • This is a lovely place to go out with your family. There are food choices for everyone and even entertainment, which is in the cinema. At night you can really see the night life of Newcastle.
  • A great range of bars and restaurants. Also has a cinema and a casino.
  • Brilliant staff and venue. Food and drink selection is great. Very well situated with shopping and various restaurants close by.
  • What is essentially a pleasure complex. It has the feeling of grandeur mixed with bemusement. Externally the architecture is astonishing and visually it's a real compliment to Newcastle's Georgian streets, but once you get in, it feels like any old mall. This is place is amazing though, primarily a food court spread across 3 levels, with a cinema at the back (which often changes ownership between larger cinema firms) and a Casino, plus there's free parking. There's a plethora of tastes to chose from including a Coast to Coast and a Pizza Hut and a TGI Fridays, so it's big on the Americana front.
  • Within the gate you have bars and restaurants. We had a drink in the weatherspoons pub then for a all you can eat meal. It seems to be a popular place and felt comfortable.
