  • Quiet during the day but seems to come alive after dark! We passed through on our way to China Town next time we will spend more time visiting and sampling whats on offer
  • The Gate is a fantastic place for a night out with friends. The parking is handy. Its through the back from the Newcastle China Town. Cinema on the top floor. Good eating places but not really fine di...  more »
  • Full of chain restaurants which doesn't appeal to me but can see its appeal to others, but if out on the tone always start in here and end up returning to be honest

  • This is a lovely place to go out with your family. There are food choices for everyone and even entertainment, which is in the cinema. At night you can really see the night life of Newcastle.
  • A great range of bars and restaurants. Also has a cinema and a casino.
  • Brilliant staff and venue. Food and drink selection is great. Very well situated with shopping and various restaurants close by.
  • What is essentially a pleasure complex. It has the feeling of grandeur mixed with bemusement. Externally the architecture is astonishing and visually it's a real compliment to Newcastle's Georgian streets, but once you get in, it feels like any old mall. This is place is amazing though, primarily a food court spread across 3 levels, with a cinema at the back (which often changes ownership between larger cinema firms) and a Casino, plus there's free parking. There's a plethora of tastes to chose from including a Coast to Coast and a Pizza Hut and a TGI Fridays, so it's big on the Americana front.
  • Within the gate you have bars and restaurants. We had a drink in the weatherspoons pub then for a all you can eat meal. It seems to be a popular place and felt comfortable.
