Lane7, Newcastle upon Tyne

Lane7 have chosen Newcastle upon Tyne to launch their boutique bowling alley. For those who aren’t aware of the concept then forget Formica tables, mass produced moulded seats, plastic hot dogs and blue slush puppies - think of the best bar you’ve ever been to. And then add ten pin bowling. Pool. A bit of ping pong. And a karaoke booth (to keep those more into the Arts than Sports happy)!

Honestly I was genuinely wowed by this place on first impression. Thought the place looked great and the staff seemed pleasant. Bowling was ok, drinks were cheap spirits at top end prices and the pool...  more »

Visited recently with family. Had a good day, plenty to do. Not the cheapest but enjoyed day. Would advise booking some activities as the pool and bowling appear to be most popular.  more »

  • Such a great place! We done everything and had the best time. Had dinner reservations else where but decided to cancel and stay at lane 7 as we were having too much fun. Must go place as a couple or even as a group of friends! Definitely going back! Great idea 💡 thumbs up to the owners!
  • Quite an enjoyable experience. Offers a balance between dining and bowling, offers a good burger and a nice cold beer. It can get quite busy at times where the service slows a little but it's definitely worth the visit.
  • Been here a few times now but this was the first time I've been for food and bowling in the same night. Booked the restaurant and bowling via phone a couple of days in advance. I really really wish Lane 7 would get rid of the infuriating policy of only being able to book 1 game in advance (1 game of bowling would be over in less than 30 mins for a party of 3 so understandably I wanted at least 2). I was told there was availability for multiple games at the time I chose but because of this rule I couldn't book it. This was made even more infuriating when I arrived and asked for a second game, to be then told that the lanes and golf were fully booked. We had 2 courses at the restaurant, which were really tasty, if not a bit overpriced (friends ordered a cheese press and Cuban press, which were essentially cheese toasties and cost £10 and £11). My nacho libre burger was good (£12). After our meal we went back to the desk to start our game of bowling. We were told that our lane (lane 10) was broken but we would be moved to another lane (lane 1) and as 'compensation', we were given a free round of mini golf. I was grateful for the golf but I was a little confused how considering I had been told all lanes and golf were fully booked, and additional lane and space on the golf course had somehow materialized. We still had a really good time and I would consider coming back, just would like to see the '1 game in advance' policy be relaxed or removed.
  • Drink, bowl and dine. V slick operation and good fun. Bit of a leg though if you want to move on after
  • Very disappointed! Can only book 1 game in advance, then you have to wait until you show up to see how busy they are before they decide if you can have more tham one game. They assured me on the phone i could have more then 1 game once i arrived, but then they told me i couldnt when i arrived. So travelled there with the wife for one 15 min game then we had no choice but to leave. So i dont think its organised well, especially afyer paying 15 quid for 2 cocktails with no alcohol in them. We qont be going back. Waste of time and money.
