  • A truly iconic landmark in the city which is really useful considering it has one of the city's most important transport hubs underneath it in Monument Metro Station. If you get the opportunity to go to the top the view is amazing. Unfortunately, the viewing platform isn't regularly open to the public.
  • Awesome Monument that's massive in size and surrounded by people and awesome stores and food places. Also pretty good for Pokemon Go. Also, check out the St George statue! =)
  • Mini Nelsons column in the center of the Toon. Went to the top as a kid, remember the tiny dodgy staircase inside.

  • Grey's Monument, often simply called Monument, dominates over Newcastle to the point that it is the focus of most directions you'll receive. It appears stunning in rain or shine, and hosts markets, rallies, and musicians throughout the year. Truly the heart of Newcastle.
