Shop and dine within the restored buildings of a 13th-century friary at Blackfriars. After sitting empty for many years, the area now houses various craft workshops and a high-end restaurant that uses locally sourced ingredients. Stop by the exhibition also located here to read up on the area's history. Take time to notice the original medieval buildings of the cloisters that are still standing today. • I wander along here sometimes on a Sunday morning while walking the dog. It's so nice when it's quiet - you can feel the history of the place. Worth a visit for a look around.
  • Fantastic! Excellent gluten-free options and very high quality food and service. The prices are high but worth every penny to get this level of cusine. We arrived early for our booked table and it was all ready and waiting for us, it's these little things that can make a big difference. We had a wonderful evening and will definitely visit again.
  • The finest first materials make up for an exquisite taste albeit in average portions! The stone building with the wooden interior add more character. Eating there is a must and a reservation is preferred if not required!
  • Blackfriars is a really nice restaurant. It has a lovely atmosphere and the food is amazing. It may be expensive to some, but they have a wonderful set menu — £12 One Course, £16 Two Course and £18 for a Three Course Meal. It is definitely a case of quality over quantity, however you don't feel dissatisfied afterwards. You walk away from a delightful dining experience. I would absolutely recommend Blackfriars Restaurant.
  • Expensive but worth it. Went for my birthday and got free bubbly and an amuse bouche. Romantic, warm atmosphere with excellent staff.
  • Really enjoyed the food but were forgotten about after out main course and our dessert did not come. The staff were very friendly and apologised
