  • Historic with interesting architecture. Not really worth travelling a great distance to unless you are particularly interested in period of history.  more »
  • We have twice been to visit when our church St Joseph's has had an outdoor event. Beautiful place. An absolute shame this is in ruins. Amazing Abbey.  more »

  • A surprising gem to be found at the back of an industrial estate. Have been back several times its a fascinating place if you are interested in a bit of history. There's a significant amount left of the abbey and there are little posts around where you can press a button and listen to info about what you are looking at. It's immaculately maintained and there is plenty of space for young children to walk safely without needing to hold hands. I'd say it's a lovely little trip for an hour or two for any age group and even better, it's a free attraction!
  • Neath Ruins is lovely and very spiritual but as a place neath abbey is a rubbish tip, rubbish everywhere, I am often ashamed to live there!
  • Although a ruin, large parts of the buildings remain and give a good overall impression of how the Abbey looked in previous times. There are large expanses of well tended grass too, and it is a popular place for picnics and is fairly peaceful. Entrance is free, and step free, but gravel paths might make it difficult for wheel chair users. Restoration work is ongoing and certain areas are closed or restricted because of this (2017). Parking is a bit limited on the road outside and access from Neath is under a 7'9" low bridge. Alternative access is via the main bypass and through an industrial estate. Well worth a visit.
  • Great abbey ruins and old mansion, also 'Tennant Canal' runs alongside which you can walk into Neath town. 'Dr Who' and 'Da Vinci Demons' filmed here.
  • Very pretty abbey to visit. There are also Cadw comments to listen which are well done and interesting. The car park is in the middle of the industrial state, bit the abbey is well sign posted.
