Despite never having understood his large sculptures, I did enjoy seeing them in situ and in particular the sheep who seemed to purposely come and pose at the Sheep Piece. The afternoon light was fant... more »

To visit this very well curated exhibition of Moore's early life. We were lucky enough to have an excellent guide who made the works so much more accessible to me as I am a novice on modern sculpture ... more »
A beautiful space, full of large Henry Moore sculptures. You can also see the artists house and workshop. There are some really lovely pieces by Moore, sitting around the garden and fields. Well worth a visit.
Although overcast the art shines forth. Becoming Henry Moore exhibition fascinating, don't forget to go upstairs to enjoy the heads. Cafe space excellent and not overly priced. A good few hours of enjoyment.
A fantastic day out. If you have any interest at all in Moore, Sculpture, 20th Century Art or art in general, you should visit. If you have no interest, it's still a wonderful place to visit and walk around. The new visitor centre is architecturally interesting, with a good cafe and shop. The Hoglands tour is interesting. Walking through the landscape with Moore's large scale works in situ is breathtaking. And, perhaps most interestingly, numerous studios show his practice, full of found objects, sketches and maquettes. The Hoops Inn next door is a great pub, too.
Beautiful buildings and grounds. Stunning sculptures. Great cafe.
A hidden gem and sadly not open after October until the spring. It is very hard to find down narrow country lanes with no sign posts and no 4G. However well worth it. Huge grounds with very impressive statues workshops galleries and also Henry Moore's house. Very knowledgeable staff on hand. Very new well equipped visitor centre with cafe foe light bites and drinks.
