Specialty Museum
Moretonhampstead Motor Museum is home to a collection of over 80 vintage vehicles, from Victorian horse-drawn carts to cars, motorcycles and light commercial vehicles from pre-1920s to the 1990s. Run by two local motoring enthusiasts, Frank Loft and Pete Lofts, the museum is housed in a newly refurbished bus depot in Moretonhampstead, Devon. • Small but many exhibits and a good range from well known classics to a vintage postman's bicycle
  • went to museum today what a collection of classic cars and motor cycles well worth a visit and very reasonably priced
  • Four of us visited this afternoon! What a find. Friendly welcome, really interesting vehicles, even if one isn't a car enthusiast! Lots of information and great introductory tour! Brilliant guys, thank you.
  • This collection is obviously a labour of love by the owner (Frank), with some outstanding examples of cars, motorbikes, scooters and motoring memorabilia through the ages. Worth a visit by all, not just motoring enthusiasts. Frank gave us a brief overview of his collection before letting us loose to inspect all of the exhibits. The reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is that it is a bit crowded (with cars) and it would be a luxury to be able to walk around each car, especially the cream of the collection. Also an opportunity to take some photographs of the individual cars. We are in Devon a couple of times a year and will pop in at least once a year to remind us of his fabulous collection. Excellent value for money.
  • Packed FULL of history a great fully undercover place to visit with-in easy reach of parking and the amenities of the town centre. Highly recommended.
