  • We went on a very wet Tuesday morning so did not explore the gardens and grounds. The house is certainly not ostentatious, however it does have a charm of its own. It has a real family home feel to it...  more »
  • I enjoy visiting the Hall particularly as NT took it over in the state it had been lived in and also like to use the grounds for dog walking, very relaxing and not as crowded as nearby Stewart Park  more »

  • Lovely Georgian manor house. Lots to see fantastic staff and we'll worth a visit....and the model railway room is a must if only to chat with the "characters" who look after it. We really enjoyed our visit
  • Intetesting gardens and manor but the green space the house is set in is gorgeous, a peaceful setting amongst the busy traffic of Middlesbrough
  • Nice place, grounds, tea room for cake, coffee & cream tea, old house to explore & model trains. National trust place. Things for the kids to do (toys & games on the grounds)
  • Good place to visit with the kids. There is a nice quiet family room with a craft room attached. Lots of land for a nice walk around.
  • A lot more inside than there looks from the outside , small but adequate café, well maintained grounds and nicely presented house. Also some surprisingly good railway models too
