  • Had a lovely Sunday morning walking round this castle. Got a good guide book and we loved exploring through the ruins. Very evocative and we could imagine great banquets taking place in the great hall...  more »
  • A brilliant place to visit . so much to see and do. Scared the kids with the dungeon and the way that the doors seemed to open by themselves.  more »

  • We first visited this ruin in 2014. It was a couple of hours and £5 each well spent. You can climb to the higher parts and get great views of Middlegame and the moors. The Castle itself is very interesting - if a little spooky - at times. Worth a visit if you are in the area.
  • Brilliantly well-preserved castle ruins, with wonderful views of the Dales from the viewing platform at the top of the keep.
  • A nice place to visit no toilets inside but some located close by
  • Oozed history.. Brilliant place to visit and has a lovely village surrounding it with great pubs. One of the better English heritage sites I've been too. A must if in the area, even of your not, worth the drive.
  • A beautiful place to visit, lovely castle ruin. Plenty of nice lawn for picnics with room for kids to fun about. Nice views. Well worth a visit.
