Trebah Garden, Mawnan Smith

Garden · Nature / Park
A subtropical garden in the middle of England, Trebah Garden is an incongruous 10.5 hectare (26 acre) swath of lush greenery situated in the countryside. The gardens were private until 1987, when the Hibbert family opened them to the public. This same family gave the gardens, house, and cottages to the Trebah Garden Trust, so that they can be preserved for future generations. Make your first stop on the grounds the Hibbert Center, where you'll learn about the family, the house, and the gardens' history. Purchase your tickets at the center and roam the gardens freely. With our world travel planner, Falmouth attractions like Trebah Garden can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

  • Beautiful. Lovely walk with lots of paths to take different routes through the amazing plants. Loved the layouts and overall effect. So nicely maintained with plenty to see on your way down to a lovely little pebble beach with crystal clear waters. Great games for kids (and grown up kids) to play including the blocks game, well worth letting the kids have a go. Staff in shops, gardens and restaurant were really helpful and friendly. Highly recommend.
  • Great afternoon walk with our dog around this fabulous garden which is well laid out with a wide variety of plants and trees for lots of photo opportunities. Stop for an ice cream on the small beach area then walk back up to the cafe for a meal and drink which although nice, was a bit pricey. Good shop and plants for sale as well. Recommended.
  • Such a wonderful place to spend a day. Beautiful gardens and different every time you visit. There are a number of routes of varying difficulties around the garden which are well marked and all full of stunning things to see. Should you choose to walk to the bottom of the gardens you will find yourself on the private beach where you can grab a well earned ice cream and soak in the scenery. Then before you leave there is a nursery where you get that plant you liked. Well worth a visit.
  • Great place. Much better then i expected but i had no real idea of what to expect to be fair. Enjoyed it.a lot and recommend return visits if possible.
  • Absolutely stunning, thoroughly enjoyed our day here. Have been meaning to visit ever since we moved to Cornwall but only just found the time to go. Beautiful gardens in a beautiful setting by the sea. Fantastic views. Good food in the cafe, enjoyed a leisurely lunch. Would definitely recommend and will return with our visitors. Reasonable entry fees compared with other gardens in the area, so very affordable.
