  • Fantastic museum. Lots to see and do. The explorer's of the family will enjoy every moment climbing through the tunnels & up the ladders in the recreated mine shafts experience. made out of wood, Im in my 40s and spent more time going around thes mines. More then my 10 year old son haha
  • Excellent potted history of Peak district lead mining industry well explained and good display of mining artefacts and minerals. This is an absolute "must visit" if you are in the area.
  • Pretty good for a local museum. Lots of effort made to give details for people interested in detail but plenty for people less directly interested in lead mining. Some nice bits of climbing for the kids (and vaguely flexible adults). Worth an hour.
  • Excellent guides / hosts - for our group of 24 (Scouts and Leaders) Caves and panning for gold - and inter-active activities at the Museum WELL DONE!!
  • Visited the museum this morning, 20th May, found staff helpful and willing to talk and the museum itself well laid out and very interesting. It brought to life all that I had read in the books, made sense of it all. Well worth a visit; I can recommend the Museum unequivocally.
