Theme Park Water / Amusement Park
Spend time with your young children at Gulliver's Kingdom, an amusement park located on a steep wooded hill, with many rides nestled amongst the trees. While waiting in line for rides, enjoy the view of Starkholmes and the Heights of Abraham. However, take note of the workout the hilly grounds will require, as it may not be suitable to the mobility-impaired. However, it is possible to catch the chairlift to the top of the hill and work your way down. • It's a little bit tired in parts, our young boys absolutely love it though. Annual passes are a bargain. Avoid pizza place, £40 for burnt frozen pizza and pasta that had long seen it's best. Staff are always really friendly, great with the kids. Matlock it's self is a lovely place. Would highly recommend.
  • Good park for young kids. Mine are 3 and 8 and had plenty of rides. It is on a steep hill which is ok if you're fit. Downsides are - Inconsistent measuring devices. My daughter who is 140cm was allowed to ride nearly all of the rides without an adult except the cable car lift which takes you from the bottom to the top of the hill which can cause problems if your children outnumber adults! The hot food is overpriced and poor quality. I think that is standard practice for theme parks though. Finally, the prices go up during g school holidays, seems a bit unfair as this is when you're less likely to get the most from the park. Busier and bigger queues means less time on rides at a higher cost. Sort those and it's 5 stars. Kids love it though so no doubt that we'll go again.
  • Hasn't changed much exterior wise and the structure of the place in 15 years since I visited as a child there are new additional rides but as another reviewer mentioned some interactive rides didn't work and could do with an uplift and give it a modern look to keep up with the times. But overall an enjoyable day to enjoy for the kids we had a good day and there are lots of rides to enjoy. Would recommend if you have young children
  • Me and my son went for the day, had an absolutely fantastic day, loads of rides, very quick to get, no waiting. Food prices were reasonable. Highly recommended for a day out.
  • Great for little ones plenty to do and places to eat. We stopped on every level to do an activity. Nice they do things for local area. It was good bank when we went.
